Hi there, I found in my vinyl collection a record of Chet Parker, born in 1891, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. very good playing, with a definite dance swing. Anyone knows about him ? the record is Folkways FA 2381, 1966  just listening to his rendering of the temperance reel ;D |

Oh wow....I haven't seen that face in while. I used to own this album, looks as though the Smithsonian has it out on CD!! Nikita my friend, I don't think you want admission to that club too soon...all the members are dead! Chad |

Great to be able to listen to clips of his playing, & download the LP if we wish!
I saw that another tune on the Temperence Reel track was called - "She's Too Fat for Me"!
...... Ah, the good old days before "Political Correctness" ;D
I notice too they have the musical Genre down as - "Dance; Dance music". Great to get away from all the usual ethereal, atmospheric, wishy-washy Celtic baloney hog-wash descriptions you often see! 
I see Chet recorded his LP back in 1966 ............. the same year the Beatles started recording "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"!
