Best regards to all! I am delighted to have joined this forum and to keep learning from others. I am new to the mountain dulcimer, having attended my first folk music festival last September with my partner and getting totally "hooked" on the sound and portability. I am starting some private lessons up at Cornell University next week! (in Ithaca NY) I also participate in a slow jam here that meets once a month to let newcomers learn music slowly and then gradually speed up. I was impressed to see there was a video podcast recently on iTunes that I could download and watch on my computer, called "Dulcimerica" with Bing Futch who taught the lessons and did some playing. I am a nurse working with disabled persons, just met the soul mate of my life 6 mos ago, and I am a happy 64 year young Grandma. And life is too short not to play music every day! I look forward to meeting you folks and communicating about our common dulcimer interests! Sincerely, Katia
