Here's a sweatshirt that features my favorite musical marsupial hammering away at a great Old Time tune on the HD www.cafepress.com/bullfiddlegal.175707344It's my own design and shop, though, so if that makes this an inappropriate post, just let me know and I'll delete it. Edited, again, because I just can't seem to type properly... or to remember to 'preview'.

I don't think my dulcimers want to wear T-shirts. I suppose it might make tuning a bit of a struggle... welll... make that 'a bit more of a struggle' ;D

I don't think my dulcimers want to wear T-shirts. I suppose it might make tuning a bit of a struggle... welll... make that 'a bit more of a struggle' ;D Well, if you make your dulcimer take the T-Shirt off, then drape it over the strings not being tuned, it can help sometimes. Actually, I bought a T-Shirt at the Stone Mountain Highland Games near Atlanta last weekend - you know, replenishing my wardrobe - that makes me think I should name my dulcimer Scotch. The T-Shirt has a little skinny fellow in a kilt dancing, and it says - Scotch - making white men dance since 1494! Wonder how that would affect it's tuning? Would the Gs be not quite tuned equally tempered? Which would, then, of course, affect some of the Ds and Cs. OR - one could make a small, removeable one-note bridge to raise those Gs a bit, then not affecting the Ds and Cs. Hmmmm. BTW, at the games, I heard some wonderful Pipe tunes, but was a bit surprised to hear that old standard, Rocky Top, played by either the Knoxville or Chattanooga Pipe Bands.

IMHO, the Scot belongs in the kilt, the Scotch belongs in the kilt wearer, or at least the kilt appreciators, and the G-strings should remain on. (sounds of rustling in the closet while annie seeks her plaid)(and her glasses)(and her spelling dictionary)

Well, maybe not the only thing... But, do the dulcimers have to keep their T-Shirts on?
