Thanks Ptarmigan!
My name is actually Jim Taylor. I live in the Middle of NoWhere, North Carolina, more often known as Dobson (near Mayberry, or Mt. Airy). I've been playing HD for 2½ years, MD for a year and bowed dulcimer for 10 months. I have 3 CDs currently done with a 4th on the way all but completed. I originally did the first 3 just for giveways, but am working on the copyright useage rights so I can put all 4 CDs out there for sale. The CD names are "Christmas on the Farm", Psalms 33:2 (old time and comtemporary gospel), "A Strange Collection" and "Around My Home".
My HD is a Masterworks 15/14. My MD is a TK O'Brien My BD is a Ken Bloom Standard
I also play guitar, mandolin, harmonica, keyboards, bass, and banjo.
I perform both solo and with a group named the Middle of NoWhere Dulcimer Players, which consists of my sister Bobbi Bodenhamer and a friend, Gary Chilton.

Hey Jim, delighted you decided to join us.
There's another North Carolina H-D player on board here now you know - dulcimike, who also lived in the middle of nowhere in NC for years, well Raleigh actually ( )but he recently moved to Chattannooga ... which I understand is another 'sleepy wee place'!
Hey, for someone who has only been playing for a short time, boy have you been busy with all those CDs. I'm guessing though that you've probably been playing all your other instruments for a lot longer? ;D
Anyway, I look forward to hearing more about your recording projects.
Cheers Dick

Hi Dick!
I had the good fortune to meet Rick at the Winston Salem Dulcimer Festival the first weekend in May. I enjoyed meeting him very much.
I been playing the HD for 2½ years now, guitar for about 30 years, but all other instruments I've only been playing for less than a year. I don't play the bass, mandolin and banjo unless I'm going to use them in a recording. My main instrument is the HD, followed by the BD and MD. I learned to play the others so I wouldn't have to find a player of that instrument if I wanted that sound for my recordings.
I'm not very lavish with my "recording studio" either lol! I'm using a 6 year old HP with an external hard drive, Wal-Mart mics (except for the good soundhole mic I do have) and a free recording software program called Kristal. Once all the songs I'm having to apply for copywrite become "legal", I'm going to buy space on CD Baby and I'll post clips of each and the address here in the forums.
The forum looks great! Keep up the good work.
Cheers!
Jim
