Hello gypsy & welcome to the Dulcimer Player's Forum.
We are all delighted that you are now a member and we look forward to your contributions to the discussions here. I notice you have already been busy here!
Please tell us a little bit about yourself, your music & your Dulcimers.
Then, why not hop over to our geography poll & click on your own area: Where are you?.... although I suspect you've already been over there, too! Cheers 'Ptarmigan'

yep, there i were. or was. i have played for the past 12 years or so, professionally for the past five. We have a four piece band, myself, himself on mando, herself on fiddle, and the most important cog in the group, an absolutely awesome guitar player, who makes all of us sound much better than we deserve. We live in the northwest nowhere of the usa, where there is a LOT of music, of many types. Our group spans from European (ME! i play tons of irish) up and down, including the British Isles, Sweden, Finland, and France, to the united statetition stuff, old time, bluegrass, and some just plain fun stuff. Rehearsal is twice a week. Just did two gigs last weekend, one for fee, and one for love. Evens out that way. It is good to be a musician!

Good to have you with us Gypsy.
Sounds like you guys are having a great time & it sounds like your into some really good music, too.
What's the name of your group? Perhaps we could post a link to it here? Any sound files we can check out?
Must admit, I miss read your post & thought you said you did two gigs last weekend ... one for free & one for love! But seriously, I also enjoy doing charity gigs. I think they're good to do, kind of like giving something back for all the joy we are all so blessed to experience with our music ... but we have to eat too!
You will let us know when your group is planning to tour Europe, next, won't you?
Cheers Dick

snickersnickersnicker.......you flatter me, sir. We don't even leave the county, with the cost of fuel. or at least we won't until i can get a fee with a comma in it. But wouldn't i just love to attend a jam in your neck of the woods..........big fun, yes?
