Hello everyone. I am a Welshman in origin, though I now live and work in Turkey. I built a mountain dulcimer from a kit about 25 years ago but it was not a great instrument and, to my shame, it still lanquishes somewhere in my parents' house unplayed. However, I recently purchased another dulcimer during a business trip to the States and have started playing properly. I am currently learning the so-called Mixolydian mode, and am trying to combine melody and chords -- I've been playing guitar for 30 years, so this is my natural inclination. It's nice to meet you all! -- David Thornton

Hello David,
I'm just wondering how all those good people of Turkey are getting on with your Welsh accent, after learning BBC English? ;D
Funny thing accents. Over here, with my Scottish accent, when I go south to Cork or Kerry they all just automatically assume I'm from Co Antrim.
I'm sure with 30 years prep on the Guitar you'll soon be flying on ye olde Mt D. Feel free to post us a couple of your tunes, for our listening pleasure here.
Oh & do me a favour will you. Find out if the locals there spell it Santur or Santoor? That whole Santoor/Santur debate it is all very confusing really, so any light you can shed on it from Turkey, would be much appreciated ...Ta.
Cheers Dick
