Hello everyone,
Looking for something interesting to do after retiring from a life at sea I am about to rekindle my craft skills (I was trained as a teacher of Handicrafts in the last millenium) and combine them with my love of things musical. During my 30 years at sea I have acquired the odd plans for instruments and am now looking forward to constructing and playing them.
The list so far includes, a mountain Dulcimer, a couple of hammered dulcimers, a hurdy-gurdy and a l'epinette (I believe that is what it's called). So it looks like I'm going to be busy for some time to come.
I look forward to reading about your skills and hope I can glean something from them, I'm sure I will. In return I will try to contribute what I can as constructions proceed.
The wood, strings and pins are nearly all assembled, the tools are sharpened, so here goes
Cheers
Peter
