Hello from Germany, That's great to have a forum in Europe. My first Dulcimer I built in 1978. There was a TV course by John Pearse. That was great. That was a real kick : making a workpiece from wood and it sounded! I could build many instruments since that time , many sting instruments from medieval to renaissance times. As a teacher for woodworking many pupils had built their own Dulcimer and Hummel under my controll. From the Dulcimer I came to the Hummel - the great grandfather of the Dulcimer. I could restaure several museum instruments from Schleswig Museum and Northeim Museum. I made a CD so you can hear how the 150 to 250 years old instruments sounded originally. Two years ago I could pass the examination of a master luthier in Markneukirchen. I live at the coast of the Northsee near the border to Netherlands. Four years ago I met John Pearse at Frankfurt Music Messe. I put my index finger on his chest and said: You are responsible...!!! He was startled but when I told him my story, he said: Go on boy!! That's what I'm doing Cheers Wilfried

Hey, watch yer language there Dulcigal! Remember that Mrs Ptarmigan is German too! But seriously, please carry on! ;D This is, after all, a European site & it is of course wonderful to see some of the other European languages appearing here too. N.B. Nikita has already given voice to his own native tongue. Cheers Dick
