Hi there as I'm from Germany, I can tell you a little bit about wonderful CD's with Hackbrett. First of all (a little bit promotion for myself ): - the group "Site Gumper" (<- means Chord jumpers) with myslf, Carmen Amrein and Jutta Claar, with our CD "Durch die Zeiten" ("through the times"). We both play on Hackbrett. At the traditional Tunes we have Guitarr for help. There ist German Folk, international tunes - just like the Jiddish "Scherele"-, New music and old Music -like a solo performed Folia by myself. - "Bavaria Blue" is one other group which plays Jazz. - "Il Salterio", Birgit Stolzenburg/Salterio (Teacher for Hackbrett and Salterio at the Conservatory in Munich) and Sepp Hornsteiner/Lute (Teacher for Guitar, German Folk and Lute at the Conservatory Munich) There are a few other CD's but I'm sorry I cannot place them right now, cause I'm not at home, but soon I will tell you more. All the best Carmen

Another good Hackbrett CD! "Trio Räss" with Tannigi Hose and Babeli, that's Belisa Mang playing the Hackbrett, Erich Fischer Voice and Vibraphone, and Hannes Giger Bass. E-Mail Belisa for ordering the CD at belisa@online.de "Zapfnstreich" Rudi Zapf and Group, one lonely Hackbrett player, the only who earns his money only with performing. Try his Homepage: www.rudi-zapf.de/Okay, a few more in time. Bye Carmen

just been on holidays to Appenzell, county of the famous appenzeller hackbrett... just incredible : I've been playing all the time, and if some of you go there, pay a visit to the appenzeller music center (link on this forum...) : all the music, photos and so on of appenzeller music is stored... and after 2 minutes, Joe Manser, the director, gets his fiddle out and we start playing... He made me discover a wonderful group : the "Geschwister Kueng" : 8 children, 7 girls and 1 boy (lucky one !), all of them playing wonderfully. They made 3 cds, just can't take them off my sound system...
