The Sur Santoor
The Sur Santoor is a new instrument introduced in the world of music.
The instrument has been invented, designed and introduced by the Santoor Player and Music Composer Abhay Rustum Sopori.
Sur Santoor is a ‘30 stringed instrument' and is placed in the family of instruments like the Harp or Mattakokila Veena of Bharat's time.
While playing, the instrument is kept in the lap of the performer just like the Santoor.
Sur Santoor, with its structural designing, resembles the Santoor and is quite light in weight.
Guitar keys have been introduced, on the left and the right side, to facilitate the tuning of the instrument.
The instrument incorporates both steel and copper strings for an enhanced tonal quality.
