I had been listening to one file on the KlezKanada website for a few months now-- rblacksberg.com/KlezKan2006Audio/03_Dobranotch.mp3A song with violin and tsimbl, and the tsimbling sounded really interesting and novel to my ears. There isn't any info listed with the file aside from the words "East meets West - Dobranotch" but I didn't think it was the band of that name since it was a brass band, as far as I knew. I guess I was wrong! The tsimbl player, who must be the same one from that file, is called Eugeni Lizin, and he's young, he was born in 1985 according to his Bio! www.dobranotch.spb.ru/Eng/dbpers.htmlI really like his playing style, it's simple in a way, yet sounds really beautiful, it's very percussive. I guess that's because he was a drummer for years before taking up this instrument, which I think he only started learning a few years ago? Songs: "Lemon-Cheeky" (Limonchiki) Hilarious!! www.dobranotch.spb.ru/mp3/dobranotch/12-Lemon-Cheeky.mp3"Dobranotch" www.dobranotch.spb.ru/mp3/dobranotch/11-Dobranotch.mp3"Culutsul" www.dobranotch.spb.ru/mp3/dobranotch/08-Culutsul.mp3I like it!
