How many of you will be playing at a Burns Supper? If you are actually hosting one, you might like to register it HEREWe're actually having one in Bushmills, so you can be sure we'll be drinking ..... Lemonade! Cheers Dick

Well, not this year, but once we ( Ealaionta) get a few Scottish tunes under our belt this next year, we'll probably try for it. So, I know you'll be drinking the lemonade, Ptarm, but what about everyone else? Do you really expect us to believe there'll be nothing stronger served (or drunk) in Bushmills? OK, I know there are a lot of Gude Presbyterians there, but still...

Sorry, no Dulcimer, I only played my Fiddle at the Burns Supper last night, with Mrs Pt. on Harp. However, as Burns was a Fiddler himself, it was appropriate enough. The evening went well & the food was wonderful. Shame we can only get Haggis once a year over here. As with most Burns Suppers in Ireland though, they only served a small portion of Haggis .. as a starter! Having said that, half the folk didn't even eat the Haggis anyway, but had SOUP instead! Going to a Burns Supper & not eating Haggis is surely a bit like going to a Roman Orgy .... & reading a book! ;D So, did anyone here actually play their Dulcimer at a Burns Supper this year?

well, in Chamonix, we had a great Burns supper, with soup, salmon and Haggis killed in the traditional way... and trifle for dessert... then we did a few Burns song... with harp and hackbrett, and then the dancing... I use the hackbrett for Gay Gordons and Canadian barn dance... www.planetski.eu/blog/31(but you can't hear the hackbrett...

So, I guess we are to assume you had the haggis, then, eh, Ptarm? I had it once several years ago at the only Burns night I've ever been to.
