Hello everyone I first discovered hammered dulcimers though the band Dead Can Dance*. One of the duo, called Lisa Gerrard, plays Yangqin (eg in this video and this video). You may have heard it if you've seen the film Gladiator (though she only uses it very lightly that soundtrack). Anyway, I have grown to love the sound of the yangqin so much that I bought one last June. Here's a video of me playing a piece I wrote. When I say it's a yangqin, I should add that I'm not actually sure that it is... but I'll save that for the yangqin section of the forum * (referring to to process of making music - a "dead" instrument is made to "dance"... nothing gothic or macabre here!)
