Pat McShane plays one of these. I've never really found out any more about them. I believe they are made in Inverness.

Hi Jack,
Someone on facebook just made this comment:
"Re Forbes Dulcimer I had someone show me one of these Dulcimers and to the uneducated eye it probably looks like a proper instrument. I thought the sound very poor and a waste of good timber! I would like to hear what other players think. Especially those who have experience of a range of Dulcimers."
Hardly a great recommendation, so now I'm curious to know how Pat is getting on with his?

From what I remember Pat was quite happy with it but he mostly played an old dulcimer that he had. I believe it was made by Hugh Forbes in Inverness and had chessmen bridges. I don't remember all that much about it but it wasn't in the same league as an Oakwood.
