Hi there everyone!!! I just wanted to tell you that through one of these forums, some guy e-mailed me (not at all connected with the forum in question) and told me there are dulcimers in a shop in Göteborg, one hour by train from me. So I was there this Friday, and looked at one. The sound wasn't the best but after he had adjusted the frets and replaced the string, it shone!! So now I'm a proud dulcimer owner, it's Romanian built, didn't cost much and sounds good enough. Here's a clip: www.svalefelt.com/music/old%20joe%20clark.mp3

Hi! I,ve just joined the forum. The Dulcimer you have bought in Sweden sounds as if its the same "make" as the one I considered buying myself from Hobgoblin in Birmingham;made in Roumania. As I am very new to playing a Dulcimer and having wasted money on buying a kit Ive taken the plunge and ordered a new one from Matthew Bascetta in Portsunlight which should be ready by early December. If it sounds aweful then it will be the musician's fault not the instrument! The instrument you have bought sounds just fine so I hope you have a lot of fun with it.You obviously know a lot more about Dulcimers & computers than I do!!! Best wishes salopian

Hi Otfiddler,
How is the dulcimer playing going? I didn't think there were any other dulcimer players here in Sweden, so it is great to see that there are...
I am located east of you, in Strangnas. If you are out this way sometime, please drop me a line.
Best -
Andreas

Sorry Andreas but you just missed her. She is now living in Ireland! Great for us, over here in Ireland ... but not so good for Sweden! N. B. Have you checked out the Dulcimer Player's MySpaceCheers Dick

My dulcimer is a Romanian factory made one too - very blonde spruce top, and with a much bigger sound than I expected.
However, my beloved OH is now working on making one from scratch (talented chap that he is) so I may soon have TWO dulcimers.
