Hi All Thank you for the welcome. I am a Canadian dulcimer player. I am fairly isolated in terms of other dulcimer players, but am slowly finding my community. I have been playing off and on (mostly off) for about 20 years. There were children to raise and a living to be made that got in my way. I did play in an Irish Caeli band for a while and learned to love harp music interpreted on the dulcimer, especially O'Carolan's tunes. I currently play a 17/18 Rick Thum professional with damper pedals. I am now exploring using the dulcimer in music therapy, and as a result have gravitated to the playing and teaching of Ken Kolodner. Look him up online if you are interested. He is very creative, using walking baselines, lots of improvisation, cool chord substituions and other techniques.

An excellent choice of Dulcimer, if you don't mind me saying so. Yes, I play one too, .. although dampers weren't available when I got mine. I'd imagine the HD would be a great tool to use in music therapy, cause anytime I play mine in public, folks all want to have a go & children pick up easy tunes very quickly. Best of luck with that. Cheers, Dick
