Hello to everyone, I bought my langspil in April 2012 from Jon Sigurdsson in Iceland and it played beautifully until the weather here in Delaware became extremely hot and humid - which was around June. Since then, every time I play the wooden knobs do not stay in place- they literally turn while I am playing- and I cannot get the strings tuned in harmony; the staff at the music store was not able either. The instrument sounds awful, it clangs and rattles when I hit the strings (I use a pick not a bow). I had to restring because the strings broke while trying to tune it. (One happened in the music store to the staff there.) Does anybody have any experience with such a situation? Will it revert to normal when the heat and humidity subsides? Is the damage permanent? Is there anything I can do? Right now, I let it rest in frustration. I am very grateful to any input and advice since I really miss playing it. I was considering buying a scheitholt with metal pegs that does not get out of tune as easily but I just also bought a lovely kantele (I have to watch my budget:). Thank you all in advance Mona
