Hi everyone... I've been playing hammer dulcimer for three years now. It all started when I needed a second instrument to study for my university music degree. My friend had one and I asked to have a 'go' and was immediately enchanted by the sound. Then I found Nonsuch Dulcimer Club which was a great help to my progress. As you know HD players/teachers are a slightly rare breed.. I tend to go out busking on the streets of Newcastle in the summer to make extra pennies (I always know at least one person is going to walk up to me and ask what the instrument is). My first dulcimer was a TK O'Brien (obtained from Dizzi's website). My favourite hammers are the Jill Weimer Dizzi signature hammers (they just feel right and they're the pair I always come back to) and I'm busy wearing down my second pair at present. I recently acquired a Roger Frood dulcimer which has a lovely tone. Looking forward to exchanging views with everyone Helen
